Mary Anne Crandall – Board Vice Chair Position 4
Email: board@pinehurst.k12.or.us
I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Pinehurst Board of Directors as well as Secretary/Treasurer of the Oregon School Board Association’s (OSBA) Rural Caucus. I have been a proud member of the Pinehurst community for 35 years, and my children and grandchild have all attended Pinehurst School. This personal connection inspires my work and commitment to our district.
I was born in Iowa and graduated from East High School in Sioux City. My educational journey has been extensive: I hold an RN, a BS in Psychology and Education, an MS in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude), and I am currently a PhD candidate in Educational Psychology. I studied at Highline College and California Coast University, focusing on Nursing, Education, English, and Psychology. I have also completed vocational certifications as a Laser Therapist, Certified Thermographer, Wound Care Specialist, and Writing Specialist.
Professionally, I am a Medical Writer and Analyst, serving as President and CEO of Mountaintop Medical LLC since 1992. I have authored over 200 medical marketing reports and presented at national conferences on medical devices. Earlier in my career, I taught and practiced as a nurse and was honored as Teacher of the Year at Long Beach Business College in 1986, 1987, and 1988. I have been recognized as a notable presenter for Kalorama Information Medical Device Conferences and was included in the National Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals in 2002–2003. I taught at RCC 1988-1990 and SOU 1992-2010.
On the school board, I bring eight years of experience, contributing to OSBA board training and supporting policy development, curriculum design, and community engagement. My certifications include CPR, Excel training, public speaking, and previous experience as Director of Education. I also bring skills in bookkeeping and tax preparation.
Outside of my professional and board responsibilities, I enjoy raising parrots, chickens, dogs, and horses, swimming, horseback riding, painting, and simply having fun with my family.
My vision for Pinehurst is to provide opportunities for all children in the district to get a dynamic education and for all families to thrive in our small, enduring community.
