EMILY COZZA

DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR

emily@pinehurst.k12.or.us

I am honored to serve as the District Administrator for Pinehurst School District. My journey in education has always been driven by a passion for fostering environments where every student feels seen, safe, and inspired to learn. My educational experience began 13 years ago, as a middle school social studies and language arts teacher. During my time teaching, I transitioned between grade levels and school districts in the Rogue Valley, coached high school women’s soccer, and even travelled across the world to teach in Thailand and Germany.

My family has roots in the Greensprings; therefore, I understand the unique spirit of our community and the vital role our school plays as its heart. I moved here with my family in 2006 and attended Ashland High School and then the University of Oregon, where I received my undergraduate degree. Outside of my professional life, I am a proud parent to two wonderful children, including our newest addition who was born in January, which further fuels my commitment to ensuring our district is a place where every child can flourish.

My approach to leadership is grounded in a strong academic foundation and a commitment to lifelong learning. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and a Master of Science in Education from SOU. Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to staying current with best practices in culturally responsive teaching and student-centered administration, ensuring that our school’s strategies are both innovative and effective.

When I am not at Pinehurst, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and immersing myself in the beauty of our local surroundings. I am an avid reader, love taking walks with my children, camping with family and friends, and being active outdoors.

My vision for Pinehurst is centered on the belief that a school should be a joyful hub of innovation, inclusivity, and academic excellence. I am committed to:

  • Fostering Community: Strengthening the bond between Pinehurst and the larger Greensprings community through shared celebrations, student expositions, and collaborative projects.
  • Instructional Excellence: Supporting our Instructional Team in delivering culturally responsive and rigorous instruction that meets the needs of every individual learner.
  • Organizational Vitality: Maintaining a safe, polished, and inviting campus that reflects the high standards we hold for our students’ education.
