BETHANY ANDERSON
My teaching roots began in rural, multiage classrooms and I’m thrilled to return to this model here at Pinehurst. It is such a great privilege to build relationships with students and families over multiple years. This connection and continuity builds such a strong sense of community and collaboration in the classroom.
This is my second year here at Pinehurst, having taught previously in both Washington and Maine. My teaching philosophy centers around hands-on and place-based learning experiences that extend the classroom into the broader community. My favorite part of teaching is sharing the curiosity and wonder that children bring with them each day. I am committed to helping students develop self-knowledge and the ability to set goals and work towards them.
I am so deeply grateful for the support and engagement of the families and community here at Pinehurst. I look forward to supporting a school community that is welcoming, engaging, and helps nurture lifelong learners who are committed to helping make the world a better place.
In addition to being a teacher at Pinehurst, I also provide ELD (English Language Development) services to our emerging bilingual students. I am currently enrolled in the ESOL program at Oregon State University and am working towards my ESOL endorsement.
