School Board Meetings
2nd Wednesday of every month @ 4pm

The Pinehurst School District is governed by a five member Board of Directors.

The Board meets the second Wednesday of every month at 4:00 PM. The meetings are open to the public.

 Attend a Board Meeting: Members of the public are welcome to attend any regular or specially scheduled board meeting or work session. On occasion the board may hold an executive session to cover specific types of confidential information; executive sessions are not open to the public, in accordance with Oregon law. Time is set aside at each regular school board meeting for public comment. You may also submit written testimony for the school board. The board will read, review and take into consideration all comments.

Pinehurst Board of Directors’ Mission Statement

Our Mission is to combine energy and time cooperating with our staff, volunteers, parents, Pinehurst School Foundation members and the greater Greensprings residents and businesses to support our kindergarten through 12th grade students by deploying strategies to vigorously maintain and improve the academic quality and financial stability of the Pinehurst School District and to insure its continued vitality as the educational and civic heart of the only public school district in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.

Mary Anne Crandall, Chair

Mary Anne seeks to utilize her education and experience to provide the best education for children on the Greensprings. Mary Anne has lived on the Greensprings for 35 years and her children attended Pinehurst School. Mary Anne is a retired nurse and Southern Oregon instructor. She currently is the CEO of Mountaintop Medical. She has a nursing degree, an MS in psychology and is a PhD candidate in Educational Psychology. Her background and interests reflect a commitment to the well-being and growth of the children and families on the Greensprings. When not working or doing Pinehurst school board activities, Mary Anne likes to swim, ride her horses, paint, and spend time with her birds and her family.

Alison Kling, Secretary 

Alison first came to the Greensprings in 1976, bought property in 1979 and joined the Pinehurst School board in 1994. She and her husband, Phil, raised two children, both of whom attended Pinehurst School from kindergarten through 8th grade. Her education includes a BA in sociology, secondary ed teaching certification in English, and an MA in linguistics. She has also served on the Pinehurst School Foundation since 2015 and is passionate about supporting the excellent academic program Pinehurst offers its students. When Alison is not tending to all things Pinehurst, she hikes, backpacks, runs and enjoys her book groups and friends.

Deb Evans, Director

Deb Evans moved up on the Greensprings with her family in 1996.  Her three children, including daughter with Down syndrome, all attended Pinehurst from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Deb has served as chair of the Pinehurst School Improvement Council and volunteered teaching pottery to Pinehurst students. As a recently elected school board member, she remains passionate about ensuring that Pinehurst School continues to provide the exceptional individualized education her children received.  Deb has a BA in Human Ecology and when she is not out hoeing, planting or harvesting produce that she sells to Greenspringers, she enjoys hiking, cooking with her daughter Eliza and camping with her family.
